Itineraries
Stop 1
Mushroom Farm
On our tour’s first stop, we will meet local mushroom harvesters. Mushrooms (not the psychedelic variety!) are central to many rural Cambodian dishes; find out more about this trade and its connection to the local community.Stop 2
Lotus Farm
The lotus flower grows in mud, yet rises above it to grow untainted by its surroundings. In essence, the lotus is a symbol of purity, and carries deep religious significance for the local Cambodian-Buddhist community. On our next stop, we take you to a lotus farm, where you will be able to learn more about this remarkable flower, sample its fruits, and purchase locally-made lotus products. The farm is also wonderful photo opportunity!Stop 3
The Stilt House
From the lotus farm, we will then ride to view stilt houses. Stilt houses or pile dwellings (palafittes) are houses built over a soil surface or body of water. They are primarily built as protection against flooding, but are also useful in keeping out the creepy crawlies! Marvel at the construction of these houses and make friends with the villagers, who will be more than happy to share their unique dwelling.Stop 4
Sunset on the Tonle Sap
On our final stop, we will go the floating village of the Tonle Sap, where you will be able to photograph and interact with villagers who rely on fishing as their main source of sustenance. Your guides will then lead you to the beautiful spot for sunset either the splendid view of Tonle Sap Lake or the green paddy fields where you will be able to wind down and enjoy a beautiful unseen sunset.- Hotel pickup and drop off
